World Mental Health Day

Wear Yellow on Thursday 10th October

On Thursday 10th October we are inviting our whole school community to wear yellow for the day. This can be as much or as little yellow as they wish. We would love it if everyone could wear something yellow, even if it is a pair of socks or head band!

Looking after our mental health is important to us at St. William’s and we want to use this day to help spread the word. We are going to join thousands of schools, companies and communities across the UK coming together in yellow on World Mental Health Day.

We ask for a cash donation for wearing non-uniform and as much yellow as your child would like. A suggested donation of £1 which will go to YoungMinds. It is important that children and young people are not alone with their mental health.

A group of Year 4 children are also very keen to run a second hand book sale and are keen to bring these two events together. If you have any good quality second hand books which you are happy to donate, we would love to receive them. Please bring them into school from Monday 30th September.

There will then be opportunities from 3.00pm till 3.45pm on 9th, 10th and 11th October for families to come and purchase books with their children. The money raised from the book sale will go towards expanding our library with a range of age appropriate books on how we can look after our minds and understanding different emotions.
