Williams Loke has a wide range of services for its local community. To ensure we understand what they do and to make sure we are all working together, we have made links with these important neighbours. Each Phase has a partner organisation.
- Nursery and Reception – St William’s Way Library
- Years 1 and 2 – Churchfield Green sheltered accomodation – this includes an intergenerational history project in Year 2
- Years 3 and 4 – Thorpe Health Centre
- Years 5 and 6 – Our Lady’s Roman Catholic Church
As part of our RE curriculum, we also visit Thorpe St Andrew Parish Church in Year 2.
We have strong working links with other local schools, including Thorpe St Andrew School. We host work experience students and Play Leaders as well as working together on transition.
Our Year 6 children take part in interviews at the UEA every year for trainee nurses.
We learn about our local community in a range of ways including learning about where we live and how different people ended up living here (Year 1), the importance of statues in Norwich (Year 2), managing erosion of the Norfolk coastline (Year 3), The Norfolk Broads (Year 4), the annual Norfolk Show (Year 4), Strangers in Norwich (Year 5), who St William was (Year 6).
